On 25 July we were quite happy to be in San Juan Capistrano for the wedding of Liza’s brother Lee Ursich and Jennifer Vaughters. (Hard to believe all those years living in California we never been to SJC or Dana Point or anywhere near there – not counting zipping through on the interstate.) Anyway, the baseball-themed wedding was a hoot (peanuts and cracker jack on the table!), the weather fine, the dinner yummy, and our once-yearly-or-less dancing a lot of fun. Three cheers for the happy couple (or should I say – “root, root, root for the home team!”). Was also lovely to catch up with family, including Bob & Pam Deichmeister from Virginia/Arizona, and many friends.
In June we joined fellow Downhill to Breakfast rider John Black and Brooklyn friends Mark and Joanne Guralnick on a VBT cycling tour of the Dreiländereck (border triangle) region where Slovenia, Italy, and Austria meet. The adventure began with a week pre-trip in the Karst region of Slovenia and the Istrian peninsula of Croatia. Click here for a trip summary and links to (lots of) photos!
